Building Buffalo Fashion Week

Khalil Carr is a Buffalo filmmaker and the executive director behind Buffalo Fashion Week’s current chapter.

When BFW returned in 2023 under the leadership of Everything Wunders LLC, Khalil set out to make it a meeting place for fashion, film, music and the wider creative community. His approach gives emerging artists room to be seen while inviting brands and audiences to take Buffalo’s fashion scene seriously.

Beyond the runway

His creative work extends into film and brand marketing. Khalil was behind the feature film LEVI, which premiered at Buffalo’s North Park Theatre in 2023, and has worked with New Era Cap’s marketing team. Those experiences across storytelling, production and fashion inform the scale of what he is building with BFW.

For Khalil, a fashion event can do more than stage a show: it can connect local talent, create opportunities for young creatives and make room for Buffalo in a larger cultural conversation.
