Creative direction at BFW

Mekhi Edwards brings photography, production and marketing together in his role as creative director.

At Buffalo Fashion Week, he shapes the visual direction of campaigns and show productions, from early concepts to the images and content audiences ultimately see. His work keeps fashion at the center while finding fresh ways to tell stories about Buffalo’s creative community.

Beyond BFW

A Buffalo native, Mekhi began his photography business in 2019 and now works under the name Capture ME Visuals. His photography spans fashion, portraits and events. He earned a marketing degree from Canisius University and is pursuing an MBA, building on experience in campaign strategy, creative development and mentoring students in the university’s Integrated Marketing Communications Masterclass.

Mekhi also serves on the board of Future in Our Hands USA, supporting marketing and fundraising for projects in Kenya and Zambia. Canisius selected him as a 2025 commencement student speaker, recognizing his campus involvement and community work. His practice moves between editorial image making and purposeful marketing, always with an eye toward making creative work visible.
